Everyone has the right to feel safe at work. As comedians and performers those guidelines can be a little more challenging to define due to the interactive nature of our work, and casual "office" setting. If you are a performer, producer or writer in the Toronto improv, stand up or sketch scene you are invited to join us for this free community conversation.
Community leaders, including the co-owner of Comedy Bar Gary Rideout, will be in attendance to share their experience and expertise. All attendees are encouraged to share their insights and perspective and engage in the conversation as we continue to build safe comedy spaces where everyone feels welcome, supported and included.
Topics include harassment, bullying, intimidation, audience heckling, responsibility of producers and venues, responsibility of other performers.
This is an ongoing conversation, we plan to host a few of these each year. We look forward to your contribution to this important dialogue.
This event is FREE for all members of the Comedy Community, but we do ask that you reserve a spot (see ticket link below) so we have an idea of how many people will be attending.
