Party: Round Kau Sai Chau Challenge

On Saturday 22 June, all boats are invited to join a fun rally in the Port Shelter area, in which sailing boats of all shapes and sizes will be trying to set a lap record, or the best corrected time under IRC, HKPN and ATI, around Kau Sai Chau. Any boat is welcome but it is at heart a Cruiser thing.
Times can be recorded in any direction, at any time before 1730hrs, and you can do it as many times as you like. As it's about 8.8nm around the island, it should be possible to do it in well under 2 hours, and so to fit in anywhere up to 4 laps finishing by 1700hrs so everybody can be comfortably in RHKYC Shelter Cove for refreshments, recounting of epic moments, and the Lions first test at 1800hrs, plus prizes and grub.
Some friends of Signal 8 are going to bring along their speedboats to help the day be a big fun family event: the idea being that the kids/wives can do a bit of sailing (if they like) and then go to a nearby beach on the speedboats :-)
The current known record is held by Paul Murphy and crew on Brace! Brace! Brace!, although it was such a blur that they can't remember the time - we think it's 1 hour 10 minutes. Awesome!
This Facebook "Event" on the RHKYC site is for organisation in advance, and on the day itself will be where boats can post times, updates, and photos. Please make sure you post your handicap when you're posting your time, and we'll post a leaderboard of corrected times...
