WELCOME & EVENT OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the 6th Annual Miss Twerk Australia 2018 Competition.

This competition is the first of its kind in Australia, and our aim is to develop Miss Twerk Australia into a National Competition over a 5 year period. The vision is to have Perth the host of the National Finals with contestants traveling from all over Australia to partake.

Perth Premiere Award Winning Adult Entertainment Venue The Voodoo Lounge is hosting and presenting ‘Miss Twerk Australia 2017’ on Friday 7th April 2017 - 174 (upstairs) James St. Northbridge.

The Voodoo Lounge will be opening early to the Public at 8.30pm and the event is set to get underway by 10 pm.

There will be 3 Categories contestants can compete in:
• Solo
* Duo
• X Rated
Contestants can enter as many of the Categories as they want - as long as the rules in each category are adhered to.

The breakdown of each Category is as follow:

Competition Rules:
1. Solo - 1min "twerk off" against other contestant winner goes through to next round, venue chooses song
Duo - Choose own song 3 - 5mins
2. Contestants are to ‘Twerk’ for duration
3. Free styling is allowed, floor grinding and floor touching is permitted.
4. Contestants can’t interfere with any other contestants.
5. Contestants can’t use other persons in performance - unless in a group or duo (props may be used but must be approved by event organizers prior to event).
6. Contestants may hold the poles on stage but must not climb either poles.


X-RATED (1 to 2 People) - Competition Rules:
1. Venue to choose Show Song
2. Contestants are to ‘Twerk’ for ONE (1) MINUTE - when the MC gives the signal.
3. Free styling is allowed, floor grinding and floor touching is permitted.
4. Contestants can’t interfere with any other contestants.
5. Contestants can’t use other persons in performance (props may be used but must be approved by event organizers prior to event).
6. Contestants may climb poles on stage.
7. You may start your Performance Clothed but must be naked by the time song is finished to qualify for the X-Rated Section of the night.

JUDGING CRITERIA:
Performers will be judged on five (5) Categories giving a total of 50 Points (10 Points per Category).
• Timing – The coordination of moves as assorted with Music and others (team / duo).
• Style – The energy and individualistic manner in which the entire show is presented.
• Technique – The technical method of how each move (or combination of moves) is performed and executed.
• Presentation: refers to the performer’s costume, props, theme & music.
• Crowd Response: is the response of the crowd during & after the performance.
The winner is not necessarily the one who can perform the best singular Twerk, but rather who can perform the best Overall Twerk Show. This allows for less experienced ‘Twerkers’ to compete against more advanced ones.
• Entrants may not communicate with members of the judging panel before or during the competition.


CONTESTANT ARRIVAL:
Performers must be at the venue by 9.30pm to introduce themselves, get registered and be categorized, get ready, be briefed and confirm music and props placement for their performance.

They are requested to enter through the Main Front Doors.
Please inform the Receptionist that you are there to enter the Miss Twerk Australia Comp.
Each contestant has a + 1 Guest. The competition will commence at about 10pm.

Doors Open at 8.30 / Comp Starts about 10pm
